On the Road to the 2012 NYC Marathon

and in the end
on dreams we will depend
'cause that's what love is made of....
~van halen

there are a few things helping me get me to the finish line.
i have the dream.  i have the team.  i have my awesome sneaks.  i have my nike + sportband.  and i have an amazing support system from extraordinary people who have shared nothing but inspiration.

love my brooks, my nike sensor, and my road id

The Marathon is not about the race, its about commitment... It's not about instant gratification, it's about endurance. It's not about the thrill, it's about passion. To run a marathon, you need to not only commit to the sport, you need to commit to yourself.

my pimped out nike +, thanks to artist extraordinaire nicole http://nicwhims.blogspot.com/

more artistic inspiration on the other side

i tweeted nike the pic of the sportband....

@nikcoyle Love this! Such a great idea.

inspirational words.... from amazing people...

i could not be happier for you. you are an inspiration to many. you have been putting out some serious mileage lately.  good for you.  i will absolutely support you.  congratulations.  i wish you all good things as you train for this amazing race. what an accomplishment.

i'm passing an envelope around at work with your story to collect money for you!!  the note on the envelope said we all know someone is fighting cancer or has battled cancer.  my cousin just had her first chemo last friday for breast cancer.  we will support this cause!

It's great to hear you are gonna run like a savage!
~erik l.

My heart was leaping for you when I got this message!  How exciting!!!  I know that you began running casually as a way to not implode (lol, me too!), but once you get running in your veins, it can lead to all sorts of adventures...  I'm so happy for you that the road is leading you here to the NYC Marathon!  I wish you happiness and success as you train and prepare ~ mind, body, and soul.  :)
Revel in the journey between now and the starting line!  On that day, other forces will take over and your legs will just keep moving.
Best of luck!!!  You don't need it, though ~ you have passion instead!!  :)
